About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems Engineer to join our team at Arup. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for plumbing and fire protection systems in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems for complex buildings, with a focus on sustainable design and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Undertake and document engineering analysis work, including code research, load calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshops.
  • Write reports documenting calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering.
  • Four or more years of professional work experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with 3D BIM software such as Revit MEP.
  • Shown interest in the built environment and sustainable development.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and communicate technical ideas effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FE desired, ideal candidate will have or be working towards PE.
  • Membership in ASPE, ASSE, ASHRAE, NFPA, or SFPE.
  • Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation.
