Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately registers patients and inputs their details into the system while ensuring a respectful and confidential experience for each individual.
  2. Confirms that patient consent forms are signed, Medicare messages are documented (if applicable), and the Medicare Questionnaire is completed, providing patients with essential information such as the Patient Bill of Rights and HIPAA Privacy policies.
  3. Facilitates the establishment of payment plans in alignment with organizational policies.
  4. Assists patients in filling out financial assistance applications as needed.
  5. Manages the transfer and discharge of patients in accordance with established protocols.
  6. Regularly reviews and verifies incomplete Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) forms and coordinates with relevant clerks for follow-up.
  7. Handles incoming calls through the switchboard, directing them to the appropriate departments within the facility.
  8. Addresses patient inquiries regarding their accounts, aiding in the consolidation of accounts and arrangement of payment plans.
  9. Processes payments made via cash, check, or credit card, both in-person and over the phone.
  10. Ensures compliance with current infection control guidelines for patients and visitors.
  11. Maintains a safe environment that meets the standards set by governing bodies.
  12. Engages in duties that may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens and ensures adherence to safety protocols.
  13. Utilizes patient safety tools to maintain a secure environment for both patients and staff.
  14. Regular attendance at the designated work location is essential.
  15. Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent, with basic accounting and computer skills.
  2. Must be at least 19 years old to sign legal documents.
  3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various reports and regulations, while providing exceptional customer service.
  4. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required within six months of employment.
  5. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think analytically and logically.
  7. Proficient in creating professional reports and correspondence.
  8. Ability to respond promptly to inquiries and complaints from patients and regulatory agencies.
  9. Effective communication skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  10. Capability to organize and present information clearly to various audiences.
  11. Completion of required training on standard precaution protocols is necessary.
Work Environment:
  1. Typical office setting with minimal exposure to excessive noise or environmental factors.
