Outpatient Clinic Nurse Specialist

Lexington Regional Health Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Outpatient Clinic Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Organize and conduct clinics for visiting specialists, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for patients.
- Schedule visiting specialists and collaborate with the supervisor to coordinate clinic logistics.
- Provide input on clinic operations to ensure adequate facilities and staffing for visiting specialists.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including scheduling staff, pre-op teaching nurses, and surgery department staff, to ensure seamless coordination of services.
- Provide patient-centered care, operating within the accepted scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
- Work with specialty physicians and their staff to identify necessary medical equipment and supplies for efficient clinic services.
- Serve as a liaison and advocate for patients, communicating between visiting specialists and primary care providers as needed.
- Ensure that patient questions and requests are addressed, and communicate concerns or conflicts to the supervisor.
- Represent the facility accurately, honestly, and with integrity, upholding the mission and vision of Lexington Regional Health Center.
- Maintain harmonious relationships within the department and among coworkers, providing support and assistance to ensure quality patient care.
- Current active Registered Nurse license from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence.
- Basic Life Support certification via the American Heart Association.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and complete reports and correspondence at a professional level.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from patients, employees, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional exposure to chemicals and other hazards related to patient care.
Works in a normal patient care environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, etc. May spend up to 75% of shift completing patient care activities, requiring ambulation and appropriate body positioning. May be required to lift up to 35 pounds to assist with patient transfers, and may need to use a hoyer lift, sit-to-stand lift, or extra assistance for patients requiring extra assistance.
May be required to transport patients in wheelchairs, requiring up to 40 horizontal force pounds to transport patients up to 300 feet. May be required to reach high shelves, requiring the use of a step stool. May be exposed to chemicals and other hazards related to patient care, requiring the use of safety precautions such as safety glasses and gloves.
