Job Title: Activity Aide

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Aide to join our team at Starr County Nursing and Transitional Care in Rio Grande City, TX.

Job Summary:

The Activity Aide will play a vital role in assisting the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the residents' activity program. This includes facilitating individual and group activities, ensuring activities are accessible to all residents, and collaborating with the Activity Director to organize events and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents, including those who are bedfast or unable to participate in group activities.
  • Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities, as well as providing activities for residents who require one-to-one support.
  • Help prepare and post the monthly activity calendar, ensuring it is accessible and visible to residents and visitors.
  • Contribute to the generation of the facility newsletter and participate in community events related to the facility's interests.
  • Attend in-services as necessary and assist residents with activities, including Residents' Council and night and weekend activities.
  • Deliver resident mail daily and perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or Administrator.
Requirements:
  • A school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
  • A Certified Nurse Aide is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferred.
