Position Overview:

The primary role of the Finance Manager at the Bezos Center is to oversee and coordinate a wide array of intricate financial, research administration, and compliance activities within the Center. This position serves as the key contact for all financial dealings and is accountable for various financial and business-related responsibilities encompassing accounting, budgeting, auditing, reporting, and grants management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct the financial and administrative operations of the Center, ensuring consistent monitoring of financial resources.
  • Oversee budgeting, subcontracting, accounting, and reporting to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Handle all aspects of pre- and post-award management, including budget support and project close-outs.
  • Interpret and evaluate university policies to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures for all sub-awards, fostering collaboration with financial contacts at partner institutions.
  • Prepare financial reports, process journal vouchers, and conduct audits as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison to various university offices to facilitate financial operations.
  • Contribute to the Annual Report preparation and manage the collection of financial data.
  • Conduct quarterly financial reviews with the financial team and Center leadership.
  • Provide monthly financial summaries and forecasts to the Center leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a degree from a four-year institution with coursework in accounting, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential, along with prior experience in financial management roles.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with processing financial transactions and managing sponsored research contracts.
  • Familiarity with university funding sources and compliance guidelines.
  • Ability to produce accurate and user-friendly financial reports efficiently.
