Job Overview
Summary of Responsibilities
The Property Adjuster is responsible for managing moderate to complex property claims with a degree of autonomy, under the guidance of management. This role involves leveraging current claims technology to assess coverage decisions, conducting comprehensive investigations, and evaluating both damages and liability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating settlements with policyholders, claimants, and legal representatives.
- Maintaining active file management and ensuring appropriate reserving practices.
- Participating in training sessions and presenting claims to the Committee.
- Delivering exceptional customer service while adhering to departmental audit standards.
Preferred Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in computer systems and current technology, including Xactimate.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior experience in handling property claims.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Education and Training
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field is preferred, along with:
- Associate in General Insurance Designation.
- Associate in Claims Designation.
