Job Description

York Space Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Spacecraft Mission Operations team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our spacecraft missions, ensuring the successful execution of our programs, and driving the development of our mission operations capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of mission operations personnel, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful execution of our spacecraft missions.
  • Interface with program management, customers, and other functional leadership to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Direct on-console tasks for real-time operations and anomaly investigations for multiple missions.
  • Develop and implement procedures for mission operations and spacecraft mission planning.
  • Lead the development and execution of operator and customer training.
  • Monitor the health and safety of our space and ground segments.
  • Support mission integration into our operations center.
Requirements:
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience in managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical briefings to high-level customer personnel.
  • Positive attitude, with a strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • BS degree in engineering, computer science, or a relevant technical field.
  • Previous experience in satellite operations center management.
  • General knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, orbit dynamics, and ground systems.
  • Experience with functional management, hiring, people development, mentoring, and space situational awareness.
  • Program management concepts, including product delivery, schedules, proposals, and task management.
  • Training material development and delivery.
