About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grant Accountant to join our team at Bassett Healthcare Network. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our grant programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of grant accounting, including review of contracts, verification of expenses, and preparation of reports and vouchers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and funding sources to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with federal, state, and private agency rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Office of Grants Management and Research leadership and all other stakeholders in the organization.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including grant and contract expenditures, and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay current on all federal grant regulations, process, and reporting requirements, including Uniform Guidance.
  • Support the Office of Grants Management and Research in the development and implementation of grant management policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in grants management, preferably in healthcare, higher education, or university grants setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written communication skills, and strong analytical skills.
