Overview

The American Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Hospital Services department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regional regulations, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct daily operations of the Hospital Services department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Responsible for the supervision of staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, coaching, engaging, evaluating, and disciplining to ensure a well-qualified team.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and regional policies and procedures.
  • Perform supervisory review of documents, including invoices and inventory management.
  • Participate in process improvements within the area of responsibility, including documenting, investigating, troubleshooting, and preventing recurrence of department errors, problems, and customer concerns/complaints.
  • Lead suspect product/sample management process and participate in the validation of hardware, software, instrumentation, test kits, and procedures as directed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of blood products, supplies, and the ability to interact with diverse customers (internal and external).
  • Ability to work on a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Blood Bank or Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
