Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a 1st Shift General Manufacturing Manager 2 to oversee our AIMS Team located in Linthicum, MD. The General Manufacturing Manager 2 will be responsible for directly supervising approximately 20-30 represented (union) employees and overseeing processes in a Printed Wiring Board (PWB) manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities to plan, prepare, issue, and manage production schedules in collaboration with Material Requirements Planning to fulfill production and delivery needs.
  • Monitor the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production challenges to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are accessible as required.
  • Assign and manage personnel to optimize efficiency and achieve scheduled and targeted production yields.
  • Execute necessary SAP/CATS/Workday transactions to oversee personnel, planning, and financial aspects.
  • Provide specific guidance and training as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to 5S practices within cell areas.
  • Utilize both internal and external resources, coordinating cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, and transportation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of professional experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Engineering environment, or a Master's Degree with 7 years of experience in a similar setting (Note: 13 years of work/supervisory experience in a Manufacturing, Production, or Engineering environment may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience in managing or leading teams in an engineering or manufacturing context.
  • Prior experience with Printed Circuit Board (PWB) manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Prior experience in a represented (union) environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP/MES systems.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing practices.

Salary Range: $108,900 - $163,300

This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
