Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant with Sentara, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our urgent care setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and improving health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient care and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, clinical procedures, and clerical duties.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical charts.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman.
  • Phlebotomy experience and electronic medical records experience preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or certified EMT required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active Listening, Communication, Judgment and Decision Making, Mathematics, Mgmt of Material Resources, Operation Monitoring, Reading Comprehension, Service Orientation, Social Perceptiveness, Speaking, Technology/Computer, Time Management, Troubleshooting, Writing skills.
