Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include, but are not limited to:

  • Gathering and evaluating financial information for liability, asset, and capital accounts
  • Generating financial reports, including profit and loss statements
  • Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
  • Offering support to junior staff and overseeing financial reporting processes
  • Assisting in month-end closing activities by preparing necessary journal entries and reviewing inventory assessments
  • Contributing to company-wide budgeting reports and engaging in the budgeting process
  • Maintaining product cost metrics such as Standard Costs and Actual Costs, ensuring that manufacturing cost margins are achieved
  • Evaluating actual manufacturing costs and preparing reports that compare standard and actual costs

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in general accounting roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, such as Oracle NetSuite
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
