Job Title: Development Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to join our team at BLUU. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan to support our mission and goals.

About the Role

The Development Director will work closely with our Executive Director and other staff members to develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan that aligns with our organizational objectives. This will include identifying and pursuing new grant opportunities, cultivating and maintaining relationships with major donors, and planning and executing fundraising events.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with our organizational objectives
  • Identify and pursue new grant opportunities, including researching and writing grant proposals
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, including developing and implementing a donor stewardship plan
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, including galas, auctions, and other special events
  • Work closely with our Executive Director and other staff members to develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan
  • Manage and maintain our donor database, including tracking donations and communicating with donors
  • Assist with other fundraising efforts as needed, including social media campaigns and direct mail appeals
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience in fundraising or a related field
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with grant writing and research, including knowledge of local and national grant opportunities
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, staff, and community members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
