We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Operating Officer to lead our business development and operations efforts at the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA). Key Responsibilities- Business Development and Operations: Lead the development and implementation of business strategies to drive growth and revenue, while ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Board Liaison: Partner with the President and CEO to serve as a liaison for the Board of Directors and all Board Committees, coordinating new board member onboarding and developing and finalizing Board Meeting agendas/meeting material.
- Marketing and Communications: Oversee the development of marketing, communications, and public relations strategy, leading MEDA services across internal and external digital media platforms.
- Human Capital and Talent Development: Develop and lead the overall human capital and talent development strategy, including management of recruitment, compensation, employee benefits, employee relations, payroll, professional development program, and performance management processes.
- Strategic Planning: Drive the organization's strategic and tactical business plans to ensure the delivery of key business metrics.
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader with a proven track record of business growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience, with at least 5 years of executive and senior leadership experience. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, or a related field is required, with an MBA preferred.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in managing multiple areas of a business operation, including business development, fundraising, administration, vendor management, human resources, and marketing/communications. Experience working with Board of Directors is required, and experience in both nonprofit and corporate environments is preferred.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $170,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
