About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Operating Officer to lead our business development and operations efforts at the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA). As a key member of our Executive Team, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving productivity, and aligning resources to drive the organization's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development and Operations: Lead the development and implementation of business strategies to drive growth and revenue, while ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  2. Board Liaison: Partner with the President and CEO to serve as a liaison for the Board of Directors and all Board Committees, coordinating new board member onboarding and developing and finalizing Board Meeting agendas/meeting material.
  3. Marketing and Communications: Oversee the development of marketing, communications, and public relations strategy, leading MEDA services across internal and external digital media platforms.
  4. Human Capital and Talent Development: Develop and lead the overall human capital and talent development strategy, including management of recruitment, compensation, employee benefits, employee relations, payroll, professional development program, and performance management processes.
  5. Strategic Planning: Drive the organization's strategic and tactical business plans to ensure the delivery of key business metrics.
Requirements

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader with a proven track record of business growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience, with at least 5 years of executive and senior leadership experience. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, or a related field is required, with an MBA preferred.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in managing multiple areas of a business operation, including business development, fundraising, administration, vendor management, human resources, and marketing/communications. Experience working with Board of Directors is required, and experience in both nonprofit and corporate environments is preferred.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $170,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
