Job Summary

The Safety and Security Director is responsible for overseeing the security department staff and protecting industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. This role involves managing security procedures, collaborating with management, and directing activities of security personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement security procedures for fire prevention, traffic control, guarding, and patrolling physical property.
  • Collaborate with management to formulate policies and coordinate programs with plant activities.
  • Direct security personnel in performing building maintenance and janitorial services.
  • Collaborate with local government agencies to ensure cooperation and coordination of property activities.
  • Patrol buildings and grounds to identify and report irregularities, such as fire hazards and security breaches.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions and apprehend or expel individuals engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to detect tampering and ensure security.
  • Observe departing personnel to prevent theft of company property.
  • Sound alarms or call authorities in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
  • Permit authorized personnel to enter the property as necessary.
  • Record data on property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning equipment.
  • Perform janitorial duties and maintain specified temperatures in buildings or cold storage rooms.
  • Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at property entrances.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a similar scope and title.
  • Experience within luxury brand markets.
  • Trade-related certifications preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment for this role involves working in a shared space with constant noise, without a private office. The incumbent must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism, and collaboration. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include regularly moving 10lbs, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50lbs, and traveling by various means of transportation.
