Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team at C.A. Murren and Sons. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for overseeing safety processes and procedures to ensure the successful completion of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct project site inspections and comprehensive safety assessments to monitor progress and support project team members.
  • Provide training and education to company personnel on safety requirements and recommend advancements.
  • Coordinate project safety programs and assist in planning and coordinating work to minimize risks and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
  • Participate in inspections, incidents, and near miss investigations, and complete accident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Identify and analyze risks and hazards on project sites and build a plan to mitigate these risks and hazards in future.
  • Coordinate and provide safety training on project sites and in regional offices, and assist in developing the project safety training schedule.
  • Oversee compliance with the Company's safety standards and communicate with leadership team to provide updates on the status of projects.
  • Provide regular updates to the Safety Director and provide leadership to employees and management on health and safety strategy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction (civil preferred) safety field.
  • Travel will be required up to 4-5 days per week.
  • OSHA 500, 510 certifications.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED instructor or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Highly knowledgeable in Excavations, Confined Space Entry, Traffic Control, Respirable Crystalline Silica, Rigging, Heavy Equipment Operations, and Fall Protection.
  • Self-motivated, excellent attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication.
