Job Summary

The Food Safety and Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance to company and regulatory quality, safety, and environmental policies and programs. This includes staff compliance to all employee manual, dress code, and hygiene.

This role provides in-field food service support and knowledge to assist in the compliance and execution of company food service programs, ensuring efficient and effective food safety procedures that maximize category sales and profit margin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and communicate corrective and preventative actions to Director and Store level, ensuring completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with local and state health departments, regulatory agencies, and other relevant authorities.
  • Listen to staff and customer suggestions, identify recurring challenges, and develop staff and customer questionnaires, reviews, workflow, needs, and improvements.
  • Manage Quality and Food Safety Management System programs and activities, including internal audits, staff adherence to PPE compliance, cleaning validations, and traceability exercises.
  • Collaborate with the training team to create and maintain procedures, forms, training materials, and other documentation.
  • Identify Food Safety Opportunity Stores and partner with the kitchen team, store manager, and district manager to develop and implement action plans to correct issues.
  • Ensure all employees responsible for managing food have valid food safety certification.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to trainers, trainees, and all store team personnel.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to food safety, food production, and quality control, making recommendations for enhancements or updates to our processes.
Requirements
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and have a high level of energy.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel between stores without difficulty.
Education and Requirements
  • ServSafe or Other CFPM Certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Associates in Food Science, Food Services, Nutrition, or other related degree.
  • 3 years of experience in retail or convenience store Food Service operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience with food safety standards.
  • At least 2 years of experience in indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training, and assignment of work/projects to other team members.
  • Microsoft Office Skills required.
