The Director of Human Resources will oversee all HR processes and initiatives, enhancing the employee journey from hiring to departure. This role involves providing ongoing support and guidance to cultivate a people-centric culture that aligns with the organization’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Management
- Implement strategies related to employer branding, current and future talent requirements, recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
- Oversee and optimize the complete recruitment cycle across various locations, including job postings, interviews, and collaboration with managers to define essential job skills and competencies.
- Examine trends in compensation and benefits.
- Research and recommend competitive salary structures and incentives to attract and retain high-caliber talent.
- Enhance the onboarding experience and welcome new hires, facilitating necessary training.
- Identify training requirements for employees to ensure their success in their roles.
- Develop learning and development programs that offer internal growth opportunities for staff.
- Collaborate with leadership and management to create and implement performance evaluations.
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance to employees, managers, and leaders on complex HR matters, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations, ensuring compliance.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and relationship-building.
- Establish recognition programs to motivate and reward employees.
- Collaborate with leadership on employee engagement initiatives and events.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback for potential improvements.
Compliance and Administration
- Ensure all HR processes and documentation comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Continuously engage in reading, networking, and professional development to enhance knowledge of HR practices.
- Guide the HR team in researching, developing, drafting, and updating company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Conduct regular compliance audits of various documents and practices.
- Manage new employee enrollment and general benefits administration.
- Ensure payroll administration accuracy.
- Collaborate with HRIS/Payroll/ATS representatives to maximize the utility of platforms.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership, people management, or learning and development role.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel for new openings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experienced with HRIS/Payroll systems.
- Preferred: Previous experience in the hospitality sector, but open to candidates from other industries.
- Preferred: Relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR, or similar.
- Bonus: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
