As a key member of the New York University team, the Assistant Director, Human Resources will play a vital role in shaping the university's human resources strategy. This position will be responsible for managing human resources-related activities, including employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with experience in employee relations, recruitment, and compensation. They will be able to develop and implement programs to attract, manage, develop, and retain employees, while maintaining the highest levels of care, discretion, sound judgment, credibility, and expertise in the field of human resources.

The Assistant Director, Human Resources will also be responsible for managing the recruitment process for administrative, clerical, and technical staff, determining job qualifications, and assisting department heads with implementing affirmative searches with diversity goals in mind.

Additionally, this position will involve administering job evaluation processes, creating new position descriptions, and identifying descriptions in need of updating. The ideal candidate will be able to consult with department heads on job changes and maintain HR service quality and application of university HR policies, employment laws, and procedures.

Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of progressively broader human resources experience as a human resources generalist, with significant recruiting and employee relations experience. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to logically examine and interpret information from different sources to develop a course of action, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $105,000.00 to USD $125,000.00. New York University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
