Acquisitions Associate/Analyst

The Albanese Organization is a 75-year-old, privately held, full-service real estate firm dedicated to creating commercial and residential buildings of distinction, quality, and architectural merit that optimize value, are environmentally responsible, and enhance the communities in which they are located.

We are seeking an Associate or Analyst to join our growing Acquisitions team in New York, NY. The successful candidate will assist in various phases of the real estate acquisitions, development, and capital markets process, playing a crucial role on deals currently in the Albanese pipeline and working with the team to identify new deals and strategies for the Company to pursue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed financial underwriting models for ground-up development and value-add real estate acquisitions using Excel and Argus.
  • Author internal and external investment memoranda summarizing financial analysis and market research used to evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Support all due diligence efforts and transaction closing.
  • Assist with arranging debt and equity financing.
  • Participate in the entitlement process and prepare pre-development and development budgets, along with schedules for proposed projects.
  • Collaborate on project design, working with project and design architects, interior designers, site planners, and other professionals and consultants.
Requirements:
  • 1–4 years of professional experience working at or with real estate investment companies in a role that required underwriting and evaluating new investment opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant real estate financial modeling experience, including a high degree of proficiency with pro forma and cash flow analysis.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, highly motivated, and possesses a positive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively, both independently and as a collaborative team player, with accountability of projects and deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and all MS Office applications. Proficiency in Argus and Adobe InDesign is a plus.
