Position Overview:
A remarkable opportunity awaits within the vibrant culture at T. Marzetti's facilities, reporting directly to the Plant Human Resource Manager. This role encompasses a wide array of Human Resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits management, payroll, workers' compensation, training, safety initiatives, and adherence to federal, state, and local employment and safety regulations as well as company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Capability Development:
- Designs, organizes, and delivers training programs focused on knowledge, skills, policies, and supervisory practices for employees and supervisors.
- Collaborates with plant management to formulate and execute strategies that align with the overall objectives of the facilities.
- Oversees HR operations through effective planning and communication with department leaders to ensure achievement of plant HR goals.
- Consults with supervisors and managers on policy interpretations, disciplinary measures, and terminations to promote consistency and fairness.
Employee Engagement:
- Fosters positive relationships among associates, corporate entities, and the community.
- Develops and maintains proactive employee relations initiatives to uphold a non-union environment.
- Engages in associate activities and feedback surveys.
- Creates and implements effective action plans to address any identified disengagement.
Talent Acquisition:
- Employs innovative methods to build a talent pool that yields high-quality candidates while remaining cost-effective. Ensures timely and thorough recruitment of quality associates.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders to establish recruiting strategies that align with expectations.
- Identifies ongoing activities to support succession planning efforts.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as company policies.
- Compiles and submits necessary information for all required plant and corporate reports.
- Maintains confidential electronic and physical employee records for the location.
- Ensures adherence to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP standards, guaranteeing compliance with all company, customer, and government regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, supporting internal clients, preferably in a progressive HR environment.
- Experience in managing associate relations issues.
- Proven ability to support internal clients with effective coaching and performance management.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.
Working Environment:
This position involves working in both an office and manufacturing setting, where regular attendance is expected. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending. Associates may encounter various environmental factors, including noise and potential exposure to fumes or dust. Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
