Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting regular safety assessments across all operational sites to identify potential hazards;
  • Creating and executing a comprehensive health and safety training initiative;
  • Designing, leading, and executing environmental, health, and safety programs to enhance management's awareness and responsiveness;
  • Investigating significant incidents or areas of concern and proposing preventive strategies;
  • Managing the Workers' Compensation program, including adherence to injury reporting protocols and conducting thorough root cause analyses;
  • Formulating risk control and management strategies to mitigate potential threats to the organization;
  • Developing contingency plans for future risk management challenges;
  • Building relationships with relevant regulatory agencies;
  • Collaborating with insurance brokers and carriers on all safety and loss prevention initiatives;
  • Staying informed on emerging trends and advancements in risk management;
  • Assisting in the oversight of all business insurance lines;
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of safety management systems;
  • At least three years of experience in creating safety training programs;
  • A minimum of three years of experience in risk management specifically related to Workers' Compensation;
  • Three years of experience managing various business insurance policies, including EPLI, D&O, vehicle, and property insurance;
  • Experience conducting health and safety audits;
  • Proficient understanding of risk management policies, processes, and methodologies;
  • Ability to assess and analyze safety metrics to evaluate success and enhance the organization's safety culture.

Job Specifications
  • Reports to the Director of Human Resources;
  • Full-time position with a 12-month work year;
  • Standard eight-hour workday;
  • Hybrid work schedule available;
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary;
  • Employment terms, responsibilities, compensation, and other factors may be influenced by changes in regulations or organizational policies.
Salary
  • $100,000 to $128,000 per year
