Position Overview

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist will perform comprehensive nutrition evaluations and follow-up consultations to determine participants' dietary needs and deliver tailored medical nutrition therapy (MNT). This includes creating specialized dietary plans, recommending nutritional supplements, providing dietary education, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams. The Specialist will ensure compliance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) by designing menus that meet regulatory standards, conducting regular foodservice audits, and maintaining essential documentation. Additionally, the Specialist will assist in meal service operations by developing therapeutic menus, managing dietary records, and overseeing diet modifications in collaboration with the Food Preparation Coordinator. Monthly food safety assessments and staff training sessions will also be part of the role to promote evidence-based nutrition practices.

Corporate Environment:

This position will directly support the Nutrition & Dietetics Manager across four key areas: staffing, training, administration, and project management. The Clinical Nutrition Specialist will fulfill various duties related to PACE Registered Dietitian responsibilities, either remotely or on-site, to address compliance needs such as assessments, care planning, interdisciplinary team meetings, and food program obligations. Training initiatives, including onboarding and process implementation, will be supported as directed by the Nutrition & Dietetics Manager. This role will also contribute to Nutrition & Dietetics operations by engaging in data collection, analysis, report preparation, and compliance documentation. Furthermore, the Specialist will assist in program planning and execution, participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts, and collaborate with various teams to enhance participant health outcomes and nutrition service delivery.

Essential Qualifications

1. Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentials from the Commission on Dietetic Registration are mandatory.

2. Previous experience in clinical nutrition and familiarity with elderly care is preferred.

3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

4. Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish/Cantonese/Mandarin is advantageous.

5. Food Protection Manager Certification is preferred.
