Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights Strategy & Analytics plays a pivotal role in Unilever's Power of One CMI team, which is dedicated to enhancing impact across various categories and the entire country through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders across all five Business Units (BUs) in the USA to address business challenges swiftly and effectively.
  • Lead the management of our CMI Performance Data Strategy and Assets, including Point of Sale (POS) data, panel insights, and vendor relationships to ensure precise and timely reporting.
  • Facilitate daily discussions regarding data partnerships and quality, while assessing new tools and methodologies in collaboration with the Senior Director.
  • Conduct internal training sessions on new data and analytical tools.

You are a natural leader, establishing yourself as a vital business partner with BU Leaders across Consumer & Market Insights, Marketing, Finance, Sales/CD, and Data & Analytics (D&A). You excel at connecting the dots, driving business outcomes through analytical insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate recommendations into actionable strategies.

Your guiding principle is a commitment to data-driven growth, recognizing that data is Unilever's most valuable asset, fueling growth, transforming organizations, and serving as a safeguard against disruption.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate strategic and operational insights to CMI BU Leads, General Managers, and Category Leadership teams.
  • Oversee Key Metrics reporting across BUs in the USA.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Global CMI team to ensure alignment between local and global tools.
  • Assist in the rollout of key analytical tools, including studies on price elasticity.
  • Collaborate with specialists in Pricing and Media Modeling to support the marketing team in their decision-making processes.
  • Craft narratives using diverse data sets, synthesizing them into clear insights; recommend analytical approaches, analyze data independently, or partner with agencies to convey data-driven stories.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics, assessing their potential impact on Unilever's business.
  • Stay informed about developments in the Performance data landscape, actively seeking opportunities to broaden market coverage and devise innovative solutions for team requests.
  • Partner with the D&A team to ensure essential data sets are integrated to support business tools and processes.
  • Manage Research & Data budgets, providing recommendations to BU leaders based on identified needs.
  • Oversee and mentor 1-2 direct reports.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in insights and analytics, demonstrating high performance.
  • Experience working with core data agencies such as Circana, Numerator, and NIQ is essential.
  • Proven track record in managing direct reports.
  • Ability to analyze problems critically, provide logical solutions, and influence stakeholders with actionable insights.
  • Proficient in presenting complex information to senior audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other analytical tools are required.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude with a history of reliability, resourcefulness, and goal orientation.
  • Possess a passionate and curious mindset, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit.
  • A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Analytics, Economics, or Business is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is necessary.
  • Experience in modeling is advantageous.
