Position Overview

Pappageorge Haymes Partners (PH) stands as a premier design and planning firm, specializing in architecture across various sectors including multifamily residential, adaptive reuse, mixed-use, hospitality, and master planning.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role within the team, guiding projects from initial feasibility and conceptual design through to documentation and construction oversight. A focus on cultivating a robust client base to facilitate organizational growth is essential. Candidates should possess experience ranging from mid to senior management levels. This role offers the flexibility to work both remotely and in-office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate all phases of design from schematic through to construction administration.
  • Establish and maintain project work plans to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Facilitate internal meetings to discuss weekly tasks and project progress.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients and consultants.
  • Collaborate effectively with consultants throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct regular site visits, assess potential sites with clients, prepare observation reports, and address RFIs and submittals.
  • Engage in daily design, programming, and technical development to fulfill project and client requirements.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction methodologies.
  • Perform thorough agency review analyses, including evaluations of accessibility, zoning, and life-safety.
  • Participate in mentorship initiatives to foster the development of junior staff and personal growth.
  • Engage in both internal and external professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Degree in Architecture.
  • Licensed Architect or on the path to licensure.
  • 3 to 8 years of professional experience, particularly in multifamily residential projects.
  • Proficient in BIM / 3D Modeling software, with a preference for ArchiCad.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to manage and lead teams, projects, budgets, schedules, and client interactions.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, either as a project lead or in a supporting role.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes, specifically Chicago and IBC.
  • Demonstrated design creativity and technical expertise.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
