Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a crucial role within the organization, guiding projects from initial feasibility and conceptual design through to detailed documentation and construction oversight. This position emphasizes the importance of fostering a robust client relationship to facilitate organizational growth. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the design process from schematic phases through to construction administration.
  • Create and uphold project work plans, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Facilitate internal meetings to discuss weekly tasks and project progress.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients and consultants.
  • Collaborate effectively with consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct regular site visits, assess potential locations with clients, prepare observation reports, and address RFIs and submittals.
  • Engage actively in daily design, programming, and technical development to meet project and client expectations.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction methodologies.
  • Perform thorough agency review analyses, including assessments of accessibility, zoning, and life-safety regulations.
  • Participate in mentorship initiatives to foster the development of junior staff and personal growth.
  • Engage in both internal and external professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Degree in Architecture.
  • Licensed Architect or in the process of obtaining licensure.
  • 3 to 8 years of professional experience, particularly in multifamily residential projects.
  • Proficient in BIM / 3D Modeling software, with a preference for ArchiCad.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record in managing teams, projects, budgets, schedules, and client relations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, either as a project lead or in a supportive role.
  • Familiarity with Building Codes, specifically Chicago and IBC.
  • Strong design creativity coupled with technical expertise.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
