Job Summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative II, Orthopedics to join our team. As a key member of our outpatient services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Service Excellence: Greet and communicate with each patient and family at the start of their outpatient visit and at each interaction using AIDET protocol (acknowledge-introduce-inform about duration-explain-thank).
  • Accomplish Business Functions: Complete tasks associated with an outpatient visit, including verifying demographic and financial information, monitoring the waiting room and work environment, and ensuring patient safety and high service levels.
  • Facilitate Patient Flow: Regularly communicate with clinical staff regarding the status of waiting patients, particularly those who have been waiting more than ten minutes, and provide status updates to patients and families.
  • Manage Payment Collections: Accurately reconcile payment collections at the end of each shift, as per Cash Collections Policy, and complete End of Day (EOD) Reports.
  • Maintain Competency: Complete assigned work queues daily and maintain computer and electronic system competency, including processes for scheduling, appointment cancellations, and order entry for clinical systems.
  • Ensure a Clean and Safe Environment: Maintain inventory of clerical supplies and ensure the work environment and outpatient waiting room is in an orderly and clean condition to ensure patient safety and security.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • One year of training beyond high school
  • One-three years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in word-processing, databases, and spreadsheets
