Eligibility Criteria: New employees to the State are required to qualify for this program.
The Division of Health & Social Services aims to enhance the pool of applicants for clinical nursing roles by providing a recruitment incentive to qualified candidates in various nursing classifications as part of our Recruitment and Referral Incentive Program.
Incentive Structure:
· Recruitment incentives will be disbursed in quarterly payments throughout the first year of employment, commencing after the initial quarter. New hires accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of service.
· Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be awarded to current employees who successfully refer candidates for the following positions: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant. These bonuses will also be distributed in quarterly installments during the first year of the referred employee's tenure.
Note: This incentive program is subject to modification or termination by the State at any time.
Position Summary
A Clinical Nurse Specialist is accountable for delivering comprehensive nursing care within their designated shift and unit, adhering to both state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include continuous client assessment, recovery care planning, ongoing evaluation of care provided, documentation, medication administration, wound management, and respiratory treatments. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is also responsible for assigning and overseeing staff in accordance with staffing needs and patient acuity, responding to both psychiatric and medical emergencies, and facilitating various therapeutic groups. As a vital member of the interdisciplinary recovery team, the Clinical Nurse Specialist collaborates closely with clients' families, community providers, and all support service departments.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities are fundamental duties common to positions within this classification and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of every task for any one position.
- Administers or assesses direct nursing care.
- Develops, implements, and/or reviews nursing care plans.
- Provides health care education and guidance to individuals, families, community groups, and/or nursing facilities regarding their health care needs.
- Maintains effective collaboration with other members of the treatment team.
- Prepares and submits necessary records, reports, evaluations, and documentation.
- Engages in quality assurance activities and provides recommendations.
Job Requirements
Registered Nurse I Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas:
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi-state compact license.
Registered Nurse II - Psychiatric Nursing Requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi-state compact license.
Registered Nurse III - Psychiatric Nursing Requirements:
- At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing or a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing with at least one year of experience in Psychiatric Nursing or a Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi-state compact license.
