Overview

As a Café Attendant, you will be responsible for the preparation and serving of a variety of specialty coffee beverages and other drinks, adhering to established recipes. This role includes assisting in the training of new employees, managing cash transactions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of equipment in the University Housing and Dining locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve both hot and cold beverages following standard recipes and customer preferences.
  • Provide enthusiastic customer service by greeting and engaging with patrons.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and stay informed about current menu offerings.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Support the training of new staff and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Process transactions accurately and manage cash handling.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
QualificationsRequired
  • Previous experience in a Café Attendant or similar role.
  • Familiarity with standard beverage preparation and kitchen equipment.
  • Completion of Food Safety Training.
Preferred
  • At least 6 months of experience in a Café Attendant position.
  • Experience with products from well-known coffee brands.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a large customer base.
Compensation

Salary range is $37,440 and may vary based on qualifications.

Working Environment
  • Uniforms and/or personal protective equipment will be provided.
  • Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and chemicals.
  • Position requires repetitive use of a keyboard and manual dexterity.
  • Physical demands may include lifting and moving heavy items.
