Lead Internal Auditor Job Overview

In the role of Lead Internal Auditor, you will be instrumental in safeguarding and enhancing the value of the organization through a risk-focused approach to assurance and advisory services. Collaborating closely with various internal stakeholders, you will assess and refine controls, processes, and operational activities to promote excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate the audit planning phase and facilitate information-gathering sessions.
  • Recommend an audit strategy for approval.
  • Execute audits in alignment with established auditing standards.
  • Conduct testing procedures and document findings.
  • Evaluate processes, risks, and control measures.
  • Prepare formal audit documentation and presentations.
  • Formulate recommendations and investigate best practices.
  • Uphold confidentiality and foster client relationships.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification as an Internal Auditor or commitment to obtain within one year.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in internal auditing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with audit management tools and data analysis techniques.
  • Additional credentials such as CPA, CISA, or CFE are advantageous.
  • Understanding of the non-profit sector.
