Position Overview
The Field Inventory Auditor plays a crucial role in supporting Zimmer Biomet by fostering and enhancing relationships with various stakeholders, including distributors, independent agents, direct sales, and support personnel. The primary goal of the Auditor is to meet and often surpass customer expectations by executing thorough inventory audits that are both comprehensive and reconcilable, ensuring that inventory records and traceability are accurately maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field travel to perform physical audits across the United States on a monthly basis.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements to effectively manage distributor inventory.
- Work closely with the Audit Supervisor to uphold proper inventory controls and traceability across different physical locations and lots.
- Carry out audit and reconciliation procedures for discontinued distributors.
- Provide insights and recommendations regarding appropriate inventory levels tailored to specific customers.
- Execute accurate inventory transactions and facilitate kit piece transfers when necessary.
- Offer constructive feedback for the improvement of company field inventory policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training and support of distributors and sales management on inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Engage with distributors, sales management, finance, and operations teams to address inventory discrepancies, providing necessary documentation to the Audit Supervisor to guide discussions to resolution.
- Maintain and update information for Audit Supervisor dashboards related to audit completion, discrepancies, and other relevant metrics.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures, both written and verbal, at all times.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly advanced skills in MS Excel.
- A strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on building positive relationships with internal and external personnel.
- A results-driven mindset, capable of working effectively within a team environment.

- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.

- Strong analytical skills, particularly in process improvement and problem-solving.
- Highly developed organizational skills, capable of managing multiple high-priority tasks concurrently.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, although equivalent experience in a related field may be considered. Candidates should have 0-3+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the medical device sector, with a preference for familiarity with inventory control practices and physical audits in Spinal Orthopedics. Proficiency in SAP is also preferred.
Travel Requirements
This position requires up to 50% travel.
