Hours: 7:30am-4:45pm + additional responsibilities outside of school hours

Compensation: $58,000-$80,000 (This is a general range; actual salaries are based on qualifications and experience)

Position Summary:

Music Educators are dedicated to advancing the school's classical mission and ensuring that all students acquire a deep understanding of music. The primary responsibilities of Music Educators include:
  • Delivering music instruction to students in a manner that enhances learning outcomes.
  • Fostering a disciplined classroom environment where students exhibit respect, responsibility, care, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship.
Under the guidance of the School Leader, Music Educators will:
  • Prepare, practice, and implement lessons that guide students toward mastery of music concepts, utilizing our rigorous curriculum.
  • Maintain an appropriate lesson pace that ensures understanding while maximizing student engagement.
  • Organize musical instruments and materials effectively, establishing classroom routines that minimize downtime.
  • Proactively address health and safety concerns.
  • Manage student behavior to create an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Keep accurate records of student performance and assessment data.
  • Collaborate professionally with colleagues, including participation in team and staff meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in music education.
  • NYS Teaching Certification is highly preferred.
  • Alignment with the mission and approach of Classical Charter Schools.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a high-performing urban educational setting is preferred but not mandatory.
