Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach a science-based course in the Sound Studies program at Manhattan College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a course that covers the wave nature of sound, electronics, electricity, and magnetism, and their applications in sound production, reproduction, and amplification.

Responsibilities

  • Teach SCI 270, The Science of Sound, to undergraduate students in the Sound Studies program.
  • Develop and implement a course curriculum that meets the program's learning outcomes and standards.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement program assessments and evaluations.

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as physics, acoustics, or music technology.
  • Experience in teaching and developing curriculum in a higher education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of sound waves, electronics, electricity, and magnetism, and their applications in sound production, reproduction, and amplification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

  • Undergraduate Salary Range: Instructor $4,431.83, Assistant Professor $4,578.76, Associate Professor $4,726.94, Professor $4,875.13
