Loan Processing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Processing Specialist to join our team at CornerStone Staffing. As a Loan Processing Specialist, you will play a critical role in evaluating, authorizing, and recommending approval of loan applications for individuals and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite loan requests within policy guidelines and lending authority.
  • Collect and investigate all pertinent information associated with a loan request.
  • Complete financial analysis necessary to evaluate risk associated with a loan request.
  • Review and evaluate applicant's ability to repay.
  • Review credit reports to evaluate an applicant's willingness to repay and assess their debt load.
  • Review and recommend action on all exceptions to policy to the next level of lending authority.
  • Apply results of the credit analysis to underwriting guidelines and policies.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate loan documentation for signatures and reviews for completeness.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to incoming messages from field advisors and clients regarding accounts and/or products.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of Consumer Lending banking experience.
  • Manual underwriting experience is a must.
  • 1-2 years of Loan Service Representative role.
  • Strong client experience skills are required.
  • Extensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of a diverse range of applicants and borrowing requests.
  • Must be thorough and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required, and the ability to learn other software and the loan department.
