We currently have an opening for a Credit Risk Consultant.

The Accounting division operates under the broader Corporate Controller organization, overseen by the Chief Accounting Officer at Old National Bancorp (ONB).

The Controllership team ensures compliance and oversight for all financial transactions, guaranteeing proper accounting practices, adherence to internal controls, and accurate financial reporting.

The Accounting division is looking for a Credit Risk Consultant to support our role as a trusted business partner, delivering timely and precise validation, modeling, and support for the closing processes.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Credit, Operations, Finance, external auditors, and the Lines of Business supported by the Controllership team.

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a foundational understanding of US GAAP, demonstrate strong time management and analytical capabilities, and exhibit meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Activities:
- Assist in the monthly and quarterly closing processes, including maintaining the checklist for expected credit losses and acquired loan accounting.
- Contribute to the documentation, modeling, and validation of CECL, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative aspects.
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums that support the analysis of accounting and financial reporting standards in line with generally accepted accounting principles.

Reporting Activities:
- Generate financial reports and analyses related to CECL and acquired loan accounting.
- Fulfill periodic reporting/data requests for the Financial Reporting department, auditors, or examiners.
- Aid in the preparation of credit metric budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses of credit performance and acquisitions.

Guidance for Accounting Staff:
- Review monthly and quarterly operational reports, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with accounting staff to prepare and review technical accounting memorandums.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation preferred but not mandatory.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience in the banking or related sectors.
- Familiarity with CECL, credit analysis, and data analytics.
- Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of banking accounting systems is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
