About the Role

Palmas Restaurant Group is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to lead our culinary team at Maya Grill Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily culinary functions, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with vendors to source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory.
  • Develop and implement menu items, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations and company guidelines.
  • Coach and develop culinary team members, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Work closely with other leaders and team members to achieve business objectives and provide exceptional guest experiences.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year of leadership experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary arts degree preferred.
  • Manager Food Safety certificate (ServSafe, FSP, or equivalent) and ability to obtain.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity.
Working Conditions

The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical demands. The ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks is required.
