Job Overview

The Culinary Supervisor is a key leadership role within our savory kitchen, responsible for ensuring the proper execution of all Savory items from prep to final product.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and maintain an efficient and effective culinary team, including partnering with new hires to observe their progress and correct course as necessary.
  • Provide conflict resolution in a positive and effective manner, adhering to The Cake Bake Shop handbook standards.
  • Understand and implement the training program aligned with their specific department and the stations within the department.
  • Ensure a complete understanding of The Cake Bake Shop standards, particularly in terms of consistency in product, portioning, cooking, and plating.
  • Set guidelines and priorities, delegate tasks to team members as necessary, and abide by and enforce all policies and procedures as described in The Cake Bake Shop handbook.
  • Submit product orders for suppliers as necessary and assist with weekly/monthly inventory practices in partnership with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team.
  • Responsible for Opening, Mid, and Closing duties with guidance from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team.
  • Well-versed in local health and safety policies and able to uphold these policies throughout each shift, both personally and with the team members.
  • Create a culture of commitment versus compliance with team members.
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team to fulfill daily par levels, communicating needs between locations and utilizing inventory software accordingly.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse and Delivery Team, along with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef Team as necessary.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior experience in a leadership role
  • Current full-time employee of The Cake Bake Shop and in good standing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work 35+ hours per week and have open availability on Weekdays, Week Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
  • Physically able to stand, bend, or stoop and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be Servsafe certified
  • Must be proficient in Food Safety and provide ServSafe Certification
