Member Service Representative (Bilingual)

Your role will involve actively seeking opportunities to enhance and grow member relationships, contributing to the overall success of the branch. You will be responsible for accurately processing a variety of financial transactions for our members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Greet members warmly and provide essential information regarding services in line with our policies. Guide members to the appropriate department for specific inquiries and services.
  2. Assist members both in-person and over the phone with transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and balance inquiries. Educate members on utilizing our various access channels effectively.
  3. Identify service transactions that can be converted into sales opportunities based on customer needs and refer them to relevant partners when appropriate.
  4. Promote all services offered by the Credit Union that would benefit our members.
  5. Achieve sales targets as required.
  6. Ensure accurate balancing of the vault, ATM, and all end-of-day tasks.
  7. Facilitate the opening of new accounts.
  8. Engage in community events to enhance the Credit Union's brand and community presence.
  9. Maintain precise records of all transactions and balances in accordance with daily reporting requirements.
  10. Address member inquiries regarding general information about Credit Union services and assist in resolving account discrepancies.
  11. Process payroll deductions and maintain files for general accounts.
  12. Uphold the confidentiality of member accounts.
  13. Commit to continuous improvement in service quality for both internal and external customers.
  14. Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Position Requirements

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. At least one year of experience in sales or productivity roles.
  3. Experience in cash handling is essential.
  4. Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
  5. Proficiency in typing and using standard office equipment, including computers.
  6. Familiarity with MSR/Teller procedures and credit union services is preferred.

Physical and Mental Abilities

  1. Full-time hours are expected, with additional hours as needed to meet objectives.
  2. Majority of the time will be spent sitting.
  3. Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 10 pounds may be required.
  4. Ability to bend, squat, twist, climb, reach, and kneel as necessary.
  5. Capability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  6. Effective interaction with diverse personality types in high-pressure situations is crucial.
  7. Strong communication skills are essential.
  8. Occasional travel may be necessary.
