Plant Food Safety Manager

Smithfield Foods is seeking a highly skilled Plant Food Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Food Safety and Quality Assurance Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify that all food safety and quality assurance programs are functioning as designed and being followed correctly.
- Ensure USDA regulatory compliance by making scientifically defendable decisions that do not result in unjustified decreases in operational productivity or efficiency.
- Investigate product or process failures, determine the root cause, and take prompt corrective actions to minimize product exposure and production downtime.
- Develop and implement food safety and quality plans, process controls, and training programs to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage daily activities, in-depth training, and development of the Food Safety and Quality staff members.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant experience in the food industry.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance principles, food science, and meat processing.
- USDA/HACCP Certified and SQF Certified Expert preferred.
