Regional Director of Operations

About the Role
The Regional Director of Operations is a key leadership position responsible for leading a team of Franchise Business Consultants (FBCs) in the Southeast United States. This role requires a strong leader who can coach and motivate consultants to provide value-added services to franchisees within the region, while embracing SERVPRO's operating systems and business philosophies.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet company-defined objectives and results, quarterly and annually.
- Assure each Consultant is meeting the job description requirements and responsibilities as outlined in their job description.
- Act as a liaison between Servpro Headquarters, Franchise Business Consultants, and Associate Franchises in the region.
- Monitor and provide accountability with the consultant's goals and objectives.
- Achieve at least $1,500,000 in average volume per franchise license in the region.
- Ensure a low level of the number of franchise terminations in the region.
- Provide group presentations at area meetings in the region regarding SERVPRO topics.
- Monitor corporate key initiatives and assist with assignment responsibilities as needed.
- Ensure each consultant has completed business goal setting through the Annual Strategic Planning Process for each regional franchise operator. Monitor goal progress and effectively coach to assist in goal achievement.
- Personally monitor top quartile performing license owners' engagement with their consultants and the SERVPRO operating system.
- Effectively manage 4th quartile license performance improvement.
- Assist in successful implementation and achievement of regional strategic initiatives. Provide one-on-one meetings with Franchise Business Consultants. Maintain direct oversight and monitoring of training for new Franchise Business Consultants.
- Keep abreast of developments within SERVPRO and the industry. Remain current on new technology as it relates to cleaning and restoration.
- Attend all mandatory meetings defined as consultant meetings, all parts of annual SERVPRO convention including workshops, regional meetings, and any other meetings, seminars, or programs designated as mandatory by SERVPRO.
- Performance manage assigned team members. Provide timely and valuable feedback, identify areas of weaknesses, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop a team of quality people who focus on excellent service, fairness, and mutual respect. Ensure training for consultants as needed.
- Assist with the annual budget and provide oversight of regional P&L accountability.
- Monitor travel schedule and expenses for regional team members.
- Gather, compile, and communicate industry-related information. Provide consultants and franchisees with useful technical and operational marketing information.
- Maintain consistent communications with regional franchises, as well as other franchises, on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
- Three to five (3-5) years of multi-unit management experience.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight forward, and professional manner.
- Franchise consulting experience required.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Skilled in the development of training programs and standard operating procedures with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, supervision, team building, coaching, and consulting skills.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to represent SERVPRO to internal and external clients/customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Possess strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Ability to fully understand the SERVPRO Operating System.
- Ability to fully understand and train SERVPRO Stages of Development.
- An understanding of financial statements, QuickBooks Pro, and general business practices.
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and consulting skills.
- A complete understanding of training venues, resources, and programs (i.e., NFTP, FMC, DTP, T/D, etc.).
- Financial experience with P&L and balance sheet analysis.
- Maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or other related field or equivalent work-related experience.
- Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration (IICRC), Water Restoration Technician (WRT), and Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification or ability to obtain within first year of employment. (Testing and renewal fees not reimbursed by SERVPRO)
Working Conditions
- Candidates must reside in market Gallatin TN, FL, GA, NC, SC, AL, MS.
- This position will be located in the Southeast United States.
- Fast-paced work environment (sitting, standing, walking, and talking)
- Up to 50% Travel; vehicle and airline travel
- 50-55 working hours per week.
- Weekend travel as needed directed by Division Manager.
- Maintain a credit card for reimbursable travel expenses.
