Position Summary:

The Business Banking Relationship Manager plays a crucial role in fostering and enhancing connections with both current and potential commercial clients within the Bank's operational area. This position is tasked with identifying prospects for deposit, credit, and cash management solutions while delivering proactive service and evaluations. The role also involves supporting the retail branch network in managing commercial relationships, sales, service, and communication. The individual is expected to represent Pioneer Bank with integrity, professionalism, and a strong presence in the business community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Proactively seeks and develops new commercial client relationships within the assigned territory through consistent and meaningful outreach to businesses, networks, and referral sources. Provides ongoing service and relationship management to existing clients.
  2. Oversees, nurtures, and expands a portfolio of credit and deposit clients.
  3. Acts as a professional ambassador for Pioneer Bank within the business community, embodying the corporate culture.
  4. Collaborates on sales initiatives with partners from Commercial Services, Retail Branches, and other departments.
  5. Serves as the primary contact and resource for commercial client matters at the branch level.
  6. Demonstrates effective needs assessment skills and possesses comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's offerings to recommend suitable solutions to clients.
  7. Sources, manages, and processes new and ongoing credit applications.
  8. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities for new and additional deposits.
  9. Targets and implements cash management products to support clients' operational needs.
  10. Contributes to the Bank's profitability through revenue generation from deposit growth, credit expansion, and fee income.
  11. Collects necessary documentation for opening new deposit accounts, processing loan requests, and establishing cash management services, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  12. Prepares and delivers sales presentations, providing detailed product and service information while addressing all inquiries during the sales process.
  13. Responds to Requests for Proposals (RFPs); evaluates client needs and recommends effective strategies.
  14. Conducts cost/benefit and risk analyses when formulating client recommendations and assessing relationships.
  15. Builds strategic referral networks including CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals, leading presentations and coordinating community networking efforts.
  16. Effectively cross-sells business and retail financial services to business owners and executives, referring wealth management opportunities to Pioneer Wealth Management.
  17. Maintains regular communication with branch managers and staff regarding business development activities, involving them as appropriate in closing sales. Educates retail branch staff on commercial and cash management products and initiatives.
  18. Participates in training, seminars, and meetings to enhance knowledge of cash management and other commercial offerings. Stays updated on trends and developments in retail and commercial banking.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of an Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Sales and Marketing preferred.
  2. Three to five years of relevant experience in commercial banking, sales support, and/or bank operations.
  3. Preferred existing network of business contacts and clients in the Capital Region.
  4. Proficient in computer applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, with strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and mathematical skills.
  5. Knowledge of deposit products, credit, cash management solutions, and ancillary banking services is essential.
  6. Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional and courteous communication style.
  7. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
