Job Summary

The Operations Excellence Manager will lead a dynamic warehouse environment in Windsor, WI, managing the daily flow of customer orders, production requests, and returns. A solid background in warehouse operations and fulfillment processes, along with a commitment to high standards in leadership, performance, culture, and safety, is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, order picking, packing, value-added services, shipping, returns processing, and packaging.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators for the department, such as productivity, quality, on-time order fulfillment, order accuracy, and inventory precision.
  • Implement productivity enhancement initiatives to meet established targets.
  • Align departmental resources with immediate business needs while identifying opportunities for medium and long-term growth, preparing future leadership.
  • Manage staff training programs to ensure team members operate at optimal efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions based on data-driven insights.
  • Adhere to the annual financial budget, including capital expenditures.
  • Analyze operational challenges and propose optimized solutions regarding layout, space utilization, equipment requirements, and process changes.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing safety standards and procedures.
  • Plan and execute an annual budget for operational and labor costs based on projected sales.
  • Collaborate with various departments to meet internal and external service objectives.
  • Comply with Alliant Power's quality management system requirements.
  • Assist colleagues within and outside the department as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide insights on system requirements and changes.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to forecast, plan, and budget; develop workforce and business plans.

  • Experience in leading and implementing Lean principles/Six Sigma for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity for independent thought and action.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and ERP Systems, preferably Microsoft Navision, Business Central, or F&O.
  • A growth mindset, demonstrating curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.

Experience and Education

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of five years in a senior operational leadership role, managing multiple distribution locations; experience with import/export operations is advantageous.
