Position Overview

The Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist is expected to have a robust background in executing safety protocols within an industrial setting. This role involves the creation and implementation of safety initiatives, enforcing compliance policies, and conducting training sessions, inspections, audits, and job safety analyses to align with ABM's safety standards as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

This position plays a crucial role in collaborating with operational teams and other stakeholders to minimize workplace injuries and reduce claims related to accidents. The Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist is primarily field-oriented, spending significant time on-site to support management, supervisors, and employees while promoting safety measures aimed at achieving zero incidents.

Compensation: $65,000 - $69,500

Compensation may vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and geographic location.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial environment focused on maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Experience in developing and executing comprehensive safety programs, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and fire safety protocols.
  • Proficient in project management and problem-solving methodologies, with strong communication skills.
  • Able to lead and direct the activities of others effectively.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Core Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with ABM personnel and client representatives to ensure successful training outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of departmental safety tracking and reporting systems.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments of facilities, responding to emergencies and preparing detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Analyze accident reports to identify trends and recommend improvements for safe practices.
  • Prepare and maintain essential documentation, including facility inspections, checklists, and monthly reports, ensuring ongoing safety compliance.
  • Monitor safety audits and report findings to the Project Manager and Regional Safety Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Complete daily reports, including employee engagement metrics, and submit them to the ABM office.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Attend monthly training sessions for supervisors at designated locations.
