Position Overview:
The role of Credit Analyst I is pivotal in evaluating and underwriting credit applications submitted by various sectors within the financial institution. The primary responsibility involves conducting fundamental research and financial/statistical assessments to ascertain and document the creditworthiness of the applications received. This includes compiling comprehensive analyses, borrower profiles, industry insights, and other relevant information into formal documents for review and approval.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather and scrutinize essential financial and credit information to aid in assessing the risk associated with loan applications.
2. Execute financial and repayment evaluations with an emphasis on cash flow, liquidity, and leverage metrics.
3. Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses inherent in loan applications.

4. Ensure adherence to established operational protocols when preparing analyses, reports, and presentations for management, focusing on accurate historical financial data, prudently constructed projections, and a clear articulation of merits, risks, and mitigation strategies.

5. Diligently document the credit application in the prescribed format.

6. Conduct research to assess the quality, character, and soundness of applications, including but not limited to: analysis of fundamental statistical data and financial statements, sensitivity assessments, industry evaluations, management reviews, and guarantor assessments.

7. Collaborate with senior team members and commercial bankers to evaluate loan packages and gather necessary documentation. Interactions with other departments within the institution, such as Treasury Management, Wealth Management, and Trust, may also be required.

8. Aim to reduce turnaround times while ensuring thorough documentation of credit applications.

9. Participate in training sessions as required.

10. Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications:
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• At least 9 credit hours in accounting
• Strong technical and interpersonal capabilities
• Proven leadership through extracurricular activities and internship/work experiences
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with credit risk analysis and underwriting principles, methods, and practices.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, as well as other database systems.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
