Position Overview:


We are looking for an Animal Care Assistant to enhance our team and deliver outstanding care to our patients. You will collaborate with experienced Veterinary Assistants and support our licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians in the daily operations of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
Assist Veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians during appointments, prepare animals for surgical procedures, and assist in surgeries while proactively organizing for any necessary procedures or diagnostic evaluations.

Safely and compassionately restrain animals.

Accurately measure vital signs, gather medical histories, and report any changes in a patient's condition to the Veterinarian.

Collect and prepare laboratory samples, including fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.

Maintain all medical equipment, including laboratory instruments, surgical kits, anesthesia machines, and other essential tools for daily operations.

Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient updates and inquiries.

Position Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Understanding of medical procedures and animal handling techniques.

Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage stressful situations while working collaboratively with a team.

Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
