Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join our dedicated team. As a veterinary technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient histories, including medical records and treatment plans.
  • Collect specimens and perform routine laboratory procedures and tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems.
  • Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Provide specialized nursing care for injured or ill animals, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
  • Assist in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures using high-tech diagnostic equipment, including electrocardiographic, radiographic, and ultrasonographic equipment.
  • Communicate with and educate owners on animal health, including preventative care and treatment options.
  • Maintain knowledge of preventative healthcare recommendations and provide education on vaccines, flea and heartworm products.
  • Educate clients on products and medications sold, including dietary products and answer questions regarding product purchase and use.
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies, and clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or educational background in veterinary technology.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments.
  • Critical thinking skills, including understanding logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Proficiency in handling animals of varying temperaments and gaining their trust during handling for examination, treatment, or transport.
  • Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques and familiarity with basic grooming practices for a diverse range of small animals.
  • Efficiency in utilizing cleaning materials and equipment and capability to perform moderately heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
