Senior Estimator for Healthcare Construction

The Healthcare Renovation Business Unit Manager is tasked with overseeing all activities and driving growth within the Healthcare Renovation sector. By exemplifying leadership, the Manager ensures compliance with established protocols, adherence to budgets, and delivers outstanding client service to enhance revenue streams. Success metrics will include the ability to (1) secure new projects and clientele, (2) inspire and lead teams, and (3) ensure timely and budget-compliant project completions.

Key Responsibilities

Management of Business Unit

  • Identifies and initiates new business opportunities within the existing client base and through new development efforts.
  • Maintains the customer relationship management system for the Business Unit.
  • Prepares estimates and quotes for both existing clients and new business prospects.
  • Regularly updates project statuses and completion timelines in the database.
  • Collaborates with Accounts Receivable to oversee weekly and monthly billing and collection processes.
  • Reviews the financial and operational performance of the Business Unit monthly and prepares reports for management review.
  • Leads the team with a motivational approach, setting a positive example and building the team from Project Manager down.
  • Participates in all essential company and client meetings.
  • Conducts weekly team calls.
  • Prepares and presents weekly operational reports.
  • Manages the marketing budget for the Business Unit.
  • Oversees gross profit approvals for the Business Unit.
Project Oversight
  • Creates new projects in the company’s software, defining project scope and accurately forecasting labor, material, and travel costs to deliver services while maintaining profit margins.
  • Ensures effective communication with staff, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project details and requirements.
  • Generates and manages all project-related change orders with oversight from the Director level.
  • Oversees the review and approval of timecards and expenses for each project.
  • Reviews project scope alongside customer-specific completion processes to ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Manages project schedules and budgets to ensure both are effectively maintained.
  • Ensures project quality meets or exceeds company standards.
  • Handles project close-out processes to ensure timely invoice processing.
  • Reviews and manages contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for each project.
  • Procures and manages vendors and subcontractors when in-house resources are unavailable.
  • Obtains any required project or client certifications as necessary.
Scheduling Coordination
  • Generates and manages all project schedule requests through the database.
  • Collaborates with interdepartmental teams to ensure accurate resource scheduling based on employee skill sets.
  • Notifies the Operations team of upcoming projects that may impact scheduling functions.
Sales and Marketing Initiatives
  • Seeks to develop relationships with both new and existing contacts.
  • Updates client communication records in the database.
  • Attends relevant trade shows and industry events.
  • Provides quarterly project highlights and summaries for marketing purposes.
All additional tasks as assigned by the Director or CEO.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or technical trade school equivalent preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in leading construction projects and teams.
  • Familiarity with tenant improvement projects is essential.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries.
  • Proficient in applying mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Travel Requirements

This position may require travel up to 50% of the time, including potential work on weekends, nights, and evenings.
Working Conditions

The primary work environment is an indoor office setting, with frequent travel to field sites. Compliance with safety provisions and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory when working in hazardous conditions.
Compensation Package

Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, with unlimited commission potential based on annual profit.
