Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Insurance Coordinator to join our team at Piedmont HealthCare PA. As a key member of our Business Services department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely insurance claims processing, patient account management, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Insurance Claims Processing: Prepare and process insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with federal and state billing regulations.
  2. Patient Account Management: Manage patient accounts, including posting charges, payments, and adjustments, and communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
  3. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and physicians, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  4. Communication: Communicate effectively with insurance companies, satellite offices, and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve issues related to patient accounts and insurance claims.
  5. Problem-Solving: Analyze and resolve complex issues related to insurance claims, patient accounts, and customer service, using strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, Health Information Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years related experience in insurance claims processing, patient account management, or customer service.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of insurance filing, reimbursement, and coding (CPT/ICD 10); excellent communication and writing skills; ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment: Normal office environment with occasional evening or weekend work.

Physical/Mental Demands: Prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching; requires normal range of hearing, speaking voice, and eyesight; ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult people and situations.
