Position Overview:

The Printing & Mailing Specialist is responsible for producing, assembling, and distributing all types of graphic materials while supporting various departmental functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various machinery, including digital presses, paper cutters, collators, folders, high-speed copiers, bindery equipment, electronic mail processing, and sublimation tools.
  • Prepare layouts for imposition and pagination sequences.
  • Utilize expertise to assess the quality of finished products before processing.
  • Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance on printing and assembly equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records.
  • Lift and deliver printed materials, supplies, and mail as assigned.
  • Attend off-site conferences and meetings, providing logistical support, including delivery of materials and loading/unloading supplies as necessary.
  • Execute responsibilities with a collaborative and positive attitude.
  • Utilize software applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, InDesign, Microsoft Office 365, wide format software, sublimation software, NCOA mailing software, AccurioPro, and Fiery software.
  • Assist the ITS Department as required.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

Specific Duties:

  • Stay updated on departmental procedures.
  • Provide production records as needed.
  • Collaborate with job requesters to determine optimal layout, format, and processing methods.
  • Train other staff on equipment operation as requested.
  • Work collaboratively to support other responsibilities within the Printing & Mailing department.
  • Assist with MTA facilities as necessary.
  • Help with the loading, unloading, and receiving of goods and paper supplies.
  • Distribute materials and provide general assistance during conferences and meetings.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail for all departments and subsidiaries.
  • Maintain knowledge of postal regulations.
  • Ensure the postage meter is well-maintained and that postal materials are posted and mailed promptly.
  • Assist with the receiving, distribution, and shipping of materials and supplies, including potential inventory recording.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma; Technical/Vocational training is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in printing and related fields.
  • Experience operating software-driven digital equipment.
  • Familiarity with assembly and distribution processes.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • A valid driver's license is required for transporting and delivering materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with members and staff.
