Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Commercial Building Design Team: Oversee and manage a team of structural engineers, technicians, and designers to deliver high-quality design services for commercial building projects.
  • Drive Practice Area Goals: Develop and implement strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets for the commercial building practice area.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Owners, and Contractors: Work closely with architects, owners, and contractors to deliver engineering solutions that meet project requirements and client needs.
  • Manage Multiple Projects: Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and Maintain Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, design codes, and standards to provide expert technical guidance to the team.
  • Coach and Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior engineers to help them develop their skills and advance their careers.
  • Perform Independent Reviews: Conduct independent reviews of drawings and calculations to ensure accuracy and quality.
Requirements
  • PE License: Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain multiple state licenses.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering; Master's degree in Civil Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten plus years of structural engineering design and construction administration experience for commercial building construction in a consulting engineering design firm setting.
  • Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, Tekla, RISA); excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
